How I'm Making Money on Poshmark (and You Can Too)

MAKE MONEYRESELLERS

When I first started selling on Poshmark, I had no idea what I was doing. I just knew I had clothes I didn’t wear anymore and the app looked easy enough. A few sales in, and I was hooked. Fast forward to now—Poshmark has become a legit source of extra income for me, and today I'm breaking down exactly how you can get started too.

1. Start with What You Have

You don’t need to go thrifting or spend money upfront. Start by listing clothes, shoes, or accessories you already own. Look for trendy brands, pieces in great condition, and anything NWT (new with tags). Good lighting and clear photos are key—flat lays or hanging items against a clean background work great.

2. Write Listings That Actually Sell

Your description should include the brand, size, condition, and any style keywords people might search for—like “cottagecore,” “Y2K,” or “business casual.” The more searchable your listing is, the more eyes it’ll get. Be honest about flaws and include measurements when you can.

3. Be Active

One of the biggest things I’ve learned? Poshmark rewards activity. Share your listings, share other people’s closets, and respond quickly to questions and offers. The more active you are, the more visible your listings will be.

4. Thrift Smarter

Once you’ve sold a few of your own items and feel confident, try sourcing from local thrift stores or consignment shops. Look for well-known brands (like Free People, Madewell, Levi’s) and trend-forward items. I always check comps (what similar items have sold for) before I buy anything to resell.

5. Pack Like a Pro

Shipping is easy on Poshmark—they provide the label. I try to ship same or next day, and I always wrap items neatly (sometimes with a thank-you note or tissue paper). These little touches can help get better reviews and even repeat buyers.

Final Thoughts

I’m not a full-time reseller (yet), but Poshmark has been a really great way to earn extra cash, clear out my closet, and fuel my love for thrifting. If you're consistent and keep learning what sells, you'll absolutely start seeing results.
